The Digital Gallery of the Kochi Prefectural Library (hereinafter referred to as "the Gallery") aims to contribute to the establishment of a cultural and knowledge base and to the development of learning, art, and industry by making valuable materials accessible to as many people as possible in the future.

However, many of the materials in this gallery were created in the early modern period, and some of them contain low-class words, discriminatory words, offensive words, and discriminatory descriptions that were formed in the early modern status system and should be taken into consideration from the standpoint of respect for human rights today.

Since these materials were used and described under the social consciousness of the time, the Gallery has retained the original materials in the hope that they will contribute to overcoming the problem of discrimination and be used as academic research materials for understanding historical facts.
